Rich User Interfaces with Thinlet - BeJUG seminar March 22, 2005

Nowadays it is common practice to choose a web user interface for enterprise applications. A thin client certainly eases the distrubution and administration. However, in comparison with a rich client it means a setback of the user experience. The aim of the presentation is to challenge Thinlet to see if it can be a best of both worlds solution and if it is yet ready for real world applications. Hence three small examples are worked out. The examples demonstrate the usage of Thinlet in combination with XKit.

The presentation was held on the Rich User Interface Seminar organised by the Belgian Java User Group.

The format of the presentation is just regular Html, hence the ability to include live applets. It is best viewed with Opera. The Opera browser has a nifty feature called Opera Show which enables to use one cascading style sheet in normal mode and another one in full screen mode [F11].
